While the largest chains face years-long scramble to retrofit post-quantum cryptography, COGNITUM was built quantum-resistant from genesis NIST-standardized algorithms securing every transaction, live and verifiable on public testnet.
Adversaries are already recording today’s encrypted data to unlock it once quantum computers mature. In 2024, NIST finalized the post-quantum standards, and governments are targeting migration by 2030-2035. The largest chains face a multi-year retrofit of cryptography they were never built for, COGNITUM was quantum-resistant from its very first block.
Not a patch on old cryptography, built on the 2024 NIST standards from genesis.
Every transaction, block, and validator vote is signed with ML-DSA65, the address is the post-quantum public key.
FIPS 204 · ML-DSANode-to-node sessions are encrypted with ML-KEM768 + AES-256-GCM, so peer traffic stays private against quantum attacks.
FIPS 203 · ML-KEMA conservative SLH-DSA fallback on a different math family, if lattices are ever weakened, this still stands.
FIPS 205 · SLH-DSALive testnet, honest about what is operational vs. roadmap, multi-round internal audits, published limitations.

| Chain | Signature | Quantum-resistant? |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin | ECDSA | Planning |
| Ethereum | ECDSA | Planning |
| Solana | Ed25519 + opt-in Winternitz vault | Partial · opt-in, storage only |
| Algorand | Ed25519 + Falcon state proofs | Partial · since 2022 |
| QRL | XMSS · stateful, pre-FIPS | Yes · since 2018 |
| COGNITUM | ML-DSA65 · FIPS 204 | Yes · testnet |
We are not the first quantum-resistant chain, QRL has signed every transaction with hash-based XMSS since 2018, and Algorand has run Falcon state proofs since 2022 (its consensus layer is still Ed25519). Solana offers an opt-in hash-based vault, but for storage only, it needs a fresh address per transaction and its everyday signatures are still Ed25519. What is different here: COGNITUM is built on the finalized 2024 NIST standards(FIPS 204 ML-DSA-65, FIPS 203 ML-KEM-768) for account-level signatures, by default on every transaction, stateless, and integer-only, avoiding the timing side-channel surface of Falcon's floating-point math and the key-reuse hazard of stateful XMSS. COGNITUM is a testnet: our cryptography is production-grade, our network is not yet decentralized.

No hype. What is true and checkable today, and what is still ahead, stated plainly.

Post-quantum security is shifting from research to requirement. COGNITUM is a working, standards-based Layer-1 you can verify today, with a transparent path from public testnet to a decentralized mainnet. Review the materials, or reach out directly.
Run a node, finalize blocks, earn rewards. Founding validators are first in line as the network decentralizes region by region.
