On-chain proposal voting for the COGNITUM network
What is Governance?
Think of it like a community town hall, but on the blockchain. Anyone can raise a proposal, every vote is cryptographically signed and counted on-chain, and the result is permanently recorded. (On the current testnet, the operator still finalizes approved proposals.)
Propose
Anyone can submit a change, like raising your hand at a meeting. Add a title, description, and voting options.
Vote
The community casts votes during the open period. Each address votes once, counted by its COGN weight. Every vote is recorded permanently.
Wait
Voting stays open for the chosen period (e.g. 1 hour, 1 day). No one can change or delete votes once cast.
Finalize
When the voting period ends, the result is finalized on-chain automatically, the winning option is permanently recorded and can never be altered.

Token-weighted voting. Your vote counts in proportion to your COGN balance at the moment the proposal was created (a deterministic on-chain snapshot), so splitting coins across many addresses gains no extra say. A minimum of 1 COGN is required to vote (and 1,000 COGN to submit a proposal). Tallies and quorum are in COGN weight. Link a wallet from the Wallet page first.

Voting is trustless: your ballot is signed on your device with your linked wallet key and verified on-chain, the key never leaves your browser, and no one (not even the operator) can forge or alter your vote. Unlock once per session with your wallet password.
